‘A Collection of Stitched Memories’ is a community-based, textile art project with members of the Ladies Club Rathangan and facilitated by local artist Aideen Cross. 

This project invites the women to tell a story with their treasured objects and memorabilia that could include family fabrics, lace/buttons, old photos or other keepsakes that have been collected or handed down over the years.

Through workshops with Aideen, the participants will learn new skills and techniques such as hand embroidery, free motion stitching, photo/design transferring & fabric dying, to create their own unique individual textile art piece. 

The project seeks to open conversation among women about memories and history of objects, remembering the past while reflecting on the present, and the importance of documenting community/family heritage, giving us all a sense of place.
