AAMP - All Abilities Music Project.

AAMP - All Abilities Music Project - is a musical endeavour like no other. A brain child of one of the founding members of the local disability advocacy group called All Abilities Action Alliance Louth, a.k.a. 4AL, it sets out to bring together people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, to connect them through music and through collaborative participation.

This extraordinary choir, led by the music teacher Fionnuala Morgan, meets once a week to sing some of its members'
favourite songs, with the focus on one particular song from the local band called Makings. This piece, written by a dad to his young non-speaking son during Covid lockdown, carries a message of bond that bridges the diverse and overcomes adversity, a message which has a special meaning to those who are marked by the society as disabled. For individuals with disabilities isolation is often a problem that was there before - and stretches beyond the 'lockdowns''.

It can persevere over the period of a lifetime. But it is not just them alone who are affected, it is often also parents, grandparents, siblings - all fighting
for services, missing on opportunities, feeling alienated, defeated, invisible 4AL has been always looking for ways to not only assist those families and spread awareness of issues they face in their daily lives, but also to create opportunities for people of ALL abilities to meet and cooperate.
