Ardnaculla Summer School Arts and Ecology Symposium

As part of the Ardnaculla Summer School, join Hometree Charity for a thought-provoking artists’ symposium on "Arts and Ecology: The Need for Ecoliteracy in our era of Environmental Challenge".

This is an afternoon for artists, creatives and anyone interested in transforming societal attitudes and speeding behavioural change as Ireland evolves towards a carbon neutral and nature-respectful future.

Hosted by Hometree’s Ray Ó Foghlú, the symposium will feature Ireland’s leading proponent of ecoliteracy for creatives, renowned eco-artist, researcher and founder of Haumea Ecoversity, Dr. Cathy Fitzgerald, who will speak on vital role the arts can play within the ecological crisis.

Following her presentation Dr Cathy Fitzgerald's will be joined by a panel of eco-creatives including Ennistymon’s Maeve Stone and Grace Wells, for a discussion and sharing of creative work and personal experiences that highlight the impact of ecoliteracy.

Presenters will offer valuable insights into the role artists can have as eco-advocates, transforming cultural values in support of nature and the environment at this crucial time, so join us for this shared exploration and networking opportunity that will focus on the healthy interweaving of arts and ecology. An inspiring afternoon that will leave participants empowered to use their artistic skills in creating the changes our planet so badly needs.
