Art, Is It?
Step into a world of creativity and discovery with this exciting project! Designed to bring together a dynamic group of 8-10 young individuals aged 8 to 11, it offers a unique opportunity for artistic exploration and education.
Over the course of 9 weeks, every Saturday afternoon from September-October, participants will engage with 7 talented professional artists from Custom House Studios & Gallery. Through interactive workshops, they'll dive into the artists' diverse practices, gaining insight and inspiration.
But that's not all! Participants will also take on special challenges, inspired by each artist's work, with all materials provided. The grand finale awaits in the Custom House Print-Room, featuring a captivating talk by renowned artist and facilitator, Bryan Gerrard Duffy. Bryan will share his insights on the participants' creations and lead a discussion on the essence of art.
This project will:
- Foster a sense of community among youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide an enriching experience in contemporary art, breaking down barriers and sparking creativity.
- Empower participants to express themselves freely and confidently.
- Validate each participant's unique perspective on art and creativity.
- Showcase the group's talent and journey in a gallery setting, potentially opening doors for further opportunities.
Join us on this thrilling adventure as we explore, create, and celebrate the wonderful world of art together!
