The  Arts/Drama project ‘Article 41.2.1: A Woman’s Place in Modern Ireland’ came to fruition after a conversation with Assumpta Kelly the Co-ordinator from the North Leitrim Women’s Centre. The narrow description of women’s lives provided in the constitution appears to have little relevance to the lives of women in Ireland in 2019. We want this project to celebrate women from different backgrounds, age, creeds and nationalities whilst exploring and giving recognition to the contribution and enrichment they offer to Irish society. Working with the North Leitrim Women’s Group, we will gather together a group of women to work towards a number of short performance pieces in various locations in Manorhamilton on a day in December 2019.
