Artists with a practice that engages with communities of interest and place need to explore new ways of working with Covid 19 restrictions in place for the foreseeable future. Looking at ways to reimagine connecting with people through the arts has never been more challenging and requires time, trial and error, and technology in most instances.
dlr Arts Office will support 5 artists that work within the County with our communities to allow them the time and space to reimagine how they work. This artists co-operative gives the time to test and refine new ideas and reflect as a group on any learning. Working primarily within a Participatory or Socially Engaged practice is very different to having a studio/performance based one and some artists that work in this way are finding it challenging to source the resources to reimagine how they work.
