Ballymore & the Last Battle of Táin Bó Cúailnge

Ballymore & the Last Battle of Táin Bó Cúailnge is an early medieval epic story of an outrageous cattle raid on South Ulster by Queen Medbh of Connacht to steal a prize bull. Ballymore was the scene of the last and greatest battle when the forces of Ulster led by King Conor MacNessa defeated the Connacht army under Queen Medbh.

Paul Gosling of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and Author of the Heritage Guides to the route of the Táin Bó Cúailnge will present his research on the ancient tale and associated folklore, outlining the topography and major events of the battle.
