The BCNC Youth Theatre was set up in February 2018 as a safe place for children between the ages of 11-16 years from the Galway City East area, to preform and learn about theatre in a fun and creative way. The BCNC Youth Theatre aims to provide access to drama and theatre for all young people in this disadvantage area of Galway City, by promoting, developing and delivering high quality youth theatre with the emphasis on belonging, inclusion and social and artistic development. The theatre group is for ages between 11-16 years. It will also be a starting point in the young person’s artistic development, where after the age of 16 they can link into the many artistic avenues Galway has to offer. During the school year over a 26 -30 week period, we offer a 2 hour drama/theatre/movement/music workshop. We also aim to offer masterclasses and theatre visits into Galway City. 

The workshops  take place in the Ballinfoile / Castlegar neighbour community centre. We are about to start on a new recruitment drive for our reopening of The BCNC Youth Theatre, in September 2022.We want to reach out to as many children from the area as we can and target specific groups to promote Youth Theatre and give the message that Youth Theatre is for EVERYBODY. We will offer a 10 week course in Youth Theatre practice-starting with introduction to drama. This will commence in September 2022 in Ballinfoile community centre, Galway.
