Volunteers will be invited to take part in a Climate Action Community Engagement project – creating a knitted Biodiversity Garden. Participants from across Co Kilkenny will be asked to knit or crochet colourful pieces such as bees, flowers, butterflies, insects ,birds etc. that will be professionally curated into a bespoke installation to highlight the importance of our local biodiversity and the role of pollinators in supporting healthy eco-systems.
Participation will be open to anybody who wishes to contribute. However, Kilkenny Volunteer Centre will prioritise and actively target participants from socially disadvantaged communities including refugees and asylum seekers, beneficiaries of temporary protection, and those experiencing rural isolation who will have the most to gain from the social interaction element of this project.
