Written by Kinvara-based composer Stephen Johnston, and conducted by Garry O’Briain, Biddy Early – Folk Opera will be staged by Kinvara Community Orchestra on December 2 and 3, 2023.

Immerse yourself in the life and times of the traditional healer and clairvoyant, Biddy Early. Biddy’s story is part of the cultural heritage of the West of Ireland. Most have heard of her. This folk opera seeks to bring her alive, through the medium of song and music – to give her a voice; allow us to share in her predicaments, her turbulent home life, her trials and her achievements.
