Pipe bands are a long-standing tradition in Ireland and take pride of place at many important occasions. Considered to be an art form because of the level of skill required and traditions to be upheld. A pipe band is a community and the members are committed to keeping the tradition alive and fill with pride as they come together in perfect harmony at event that is special to all those in attendance.

With heritage traditions going back to its foundation in 1910 the Black Raven Pipe Band in Lusk is a strong community bank and with the support of Creative Ireland they would like to introduce a structured programme of learning that will give  existing and new members an opportunity to prefect the art and uphold its strong traditional values which will not only assist in raising the band to a higher level nationally but will also assist in securing the bands for many years to come. 

The learning programme will be conducted by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and qualifications will be certified by the Scottish Qualification Authority. Foundation to level six will be offered to all members.
