Breaking News!

Sixth class at Ballyroan National School will work with South Dublin Libraries and Cybersafe Ireland in a series of workshops designed to teach the skills and knowledge to navigate the volume of news content available online and in traditional news media. The participants will utilize these skills to create and film a news show about the people and events in the Ballyroan community. A professional production company will work with the children on all aspects including research, script writing, how to develop a story, directing, camera work, sound and editing. This programme aims to develop active learning, creative thinking, language, imagination, collaborative learning and problem solving skills as well as giving the participants hands-on experience of using creative technology as part of the film making process. More information will be available at a future date.
