Capturing Our Story
Irish Life and Lore was set up in 1990 by Maurice and Jane O'Keeffe of Tralee Co. Kerry for the purpose of recording in audio, and archiving oral history in Ireland. For this project, they will be working in association with Kilcormac Development Association to record the stories and memories of local people. It is intended that fifty individuals in their later years will be recorded for the project. The recordings will capture memories of life as it was lived in earlier days in the home, the workplace, the farm and the bog.
The recordings will be made available to the Offaly County Library service who will host them on the local studies website.
For anyone interested in listening to recounts of times gone by, this one is for you!
