Carrick Tidy Towns Connecting through Creativity

Carrick-on-Shannon Tidy Towns are working with textile artist, Catherine Gray and members of the Ukrainian Community, who will take part in a series of workshops designed to be accessible and to create a shared welcoming space, where new friendships can develop and grow through creativity.

The workshops will encourage participants to express creativity through paint, print and stitch. Using the process of Monotype Printmaking, with tools such as paint or inks on a Gelli Plate, then layered onto cartridge paper and different types of fabric.  In the process of making a print, Catherine will be inviting participants to engage in mark-making, using found objects and recycled material.  This can be anything, from onion netting to corrugated cardboard; anything, in fact, that will make a pattern.  Printing with vegetables is another option, cabbage leaves to vegetable cross-sections.  The imagination can run riot!

This workshop is not open to the general public.
