Castlerea Rose Festival will host a vibrant cultural and music event in Somers Park, celebrating creativity, inclusion and the rich diversity of the local community. The festival will bring together people of all ages and backgrounds to collaboratively create high‑quality artistic pieces that can be reused at future events and parades.

Working with experienced tutors Vivian Moran (Corlass) and Karen Bowens (Foróige), participants from Castlerea Family Resource Centre, Brothers of Charity, and Foróige youth groups will take part in creative sessions designing and making illuminated artworks. These sessions will explore themes of national and international cultural identity, reflecting Castlerea’s role as a welcoming and multicultural hub. The project is supported by Inclusion Officer Tetiana Vysotska, ensuring voices from both long‑established and newer communities are represented.

Festival volunteers, alongside participants and creative arts students from GRETB Castlerea, will help construct frames and shapes using Oxford cloth to create lanterns, windocks and sculptural forms. These artworks will be lit as evening falls, transforming Somers Park into a colourful and inclusive celebration space.

Participants and the wider community will be invited to come together on the night to enjoy music, culture and the shared creative spirit of Castlerea.
