Aiséirí Céim Éile is a secondary treatment centre based on the Minnesota Model of rehabilitation for men and women in recovery from addiction. Located in Ballybeg, Waterford City, Aiséirí Céim Éile provides a secondary treatment programme in a 6-bed unit for women and a separate 10-bed unit for men. A significant element of the programme we offer involves a holistic education programme which includes art, yoga, acupuncture, drama and health related fitness. The grant would facilitate the creation of a 12 step garden to be used for residents.

We hope to host a socially engaged arts project in our Women's Centre. This participatory programme will see a trained arts professional employ a pedagogical approach with our residents with the intended outcome of creating a 12 Step garden based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anomymous. This co-creation of knowledge will vitalise the existing skills and attributes within our group to create a monument to 12 steps.
