Ceol na Sí
This project encompasses several actions to explore the ancient music of the harp the Fairy Harp: Ceol Sí within the context of early years / younger audiences born out of the huge interest from local libraries to present work for younger audiences. It will put together a concert that explores the 19th century obsession with fairies from an Irish and European perspective, showcasing virtuoso harp repertoire. Given the subject (fairies!) there is enormous potential to create a piece specifically for younger children and Aisling will work on this project to meet this interest / demand with this new project. To bring the main elements of the project together Aisling will work on research with two music experts in music education to interrogate the research and musical accuracy of this work to adapt of Fairy Harp: Ceol Sí for younger audeinces. A key aim of the pedegogical reseach process is to closely interrogate the spoken aspect in favour of non-verbal communication throughout the piece and this is in line with the goal of 'sparkingpresenting work to non verbal young audeinces and migrant communities with english language barriers.
