Tintean Housing Association is a Waterford charity offering accommodation with supports to homeless women and families. We provide transitional accommodation with 24 hours on site support, second stage and long term housing for single homeless women aged 18 years and over, and short-term emergency accommodation for homeless families. We provide support to our clients to seek and secure stable long term accommodation.

The project will engage homeless women accessing the services of Tintean in collaborating to create a Christmas exhibition that is themed on the essence of empowered femininity.

The project will provide the service users with a creative outlet in which they can express their creativity and learn new artistic skills, which will then be on display to the public.

The project will also allow service users to engage mindfully in various arts and crafts projects, thus contributing to an improved mental wellbeing.

The funding applied for will include the cost of a tutor to run two skills workshops, teaching the service users some new techniques in crafting the project and an art tutor to run the classes.

The funding will also cover the materials needed to make this project a reality, including the cost of transporting the piece from our quarters to where the exhibit will be displayed.

The project will be delivered over 12 sessions, each two hours long, and will engage 10 homeless women.
