The Christmas Miscellany at Rothe House is in its second year and is an initiative to showcase local community groups involved in the arts such as writers’ groups, community performers, musicians and singers. It will give them a chance to create new or previous work and perform it in the intimate setting of Rothe House. It will be a ticketed event. There will be a seasonal drinks reception for audience members included. There will be a focus on diverse voices and age groups and the event will strive to give space to an equal number of male and female performances. Rothe House has long been a supporter of local community initiatives and artists. The hope is that this will be an annual event of some prestige in Kilkenny and will become known as a supporter of cultural initiatives. The organisers are keen to be inclusive of different voices and every effort will be made to support artists/supporters from all backgrounds.
