The project will bring a group of 30 teenage musicians to Asti near Milan in Northern Italy for four days in November 2019 and prepare to bring a group of young musicians from Asti to Waterford.

The participants, ages from 12 to 20 get to experience another culture and learn about their heritage while bringing their own culture and heritage in music, song, dance and the Irish language with them.

This exchange programme has been successfully implemented for many years in Ireland, Germany, Italy and France.

This innovative project allows for varied development opportunities for the young performers while creating awareness of the musical culture in Waterford's Community.

The participants will stay with a similar group in a music academy and will attend the Progetto Futuro Musica-Instituto Comprensivo di Villafrana.
