Connect 5 Schools Partnership

In October 2021 GOMA Gallery will celebrate its 5th birthday, having provided studios for professional artists in Waterford since
2016. To mark this special milestone, the organisation will be strengthening and building relationships locally, nationally and
internationally and adopting a collaborative approach to developing our programme of events and projects. The programme will include, solo and group exhibitions, exhibition exchanges, residencies, studio exchanges, community collaborations, youth
engagement, workshops and talks.

Connect 5, Youth Collaboration, is a project that includes five Waterford schools and Artists. It challenges the notion of isolation through distant collaboration. A presentation/exhibition representing the product of the collaborative work. The project will be based on a
response to Resilience in the Pandemic. While we realign to this new pace and rhythm of daily life, artists are expanding horizons,
showing how we can continue to unite and reflect.

Designed to introduce students, teachers, family and friends to the gallery space to improve observation and aid in being comfortable in the gallery setting. Guided through the process of approaching art with a focus on discussion and critique. Descriptive language is engaged, analysis, interpretation, getting involved and making subjects personal is both encouraged and guided.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
