National Heritage Week takes place from Saturday, August 17 to Sunday, August 25, 2019. County Donegal is set to be the county with the most Heritage Week events per head of population in Ireland again this year with over 120 events taking place at venues across the county and most of them are free. Donegal County Council’s Culture Division are organising or hosting about 20 events for National Heritage Week. Events include family open days, guided walks, built heritage open houses, heritage site visits, fieldtrips, exhibitions, illustrated talks, historical re-enactments, traditional skills demonstrations, storytelling, traditional music and children’s activities. Heritage Week is coordinated by The Heritage Council and Local Authority Heritage Officers and the County Donegal Heritage Office will produce the free, pocket-size County Donegal Heritage Week Event Guide that will be launched in early August.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
