Creative Brains Summer Camp
The aim of the creative brains summer camp is to create a welcoming, calm and flexible creative space for neurodiverse children in the East Clare area. Led by artist Lynn Kenny and guided by the children, they will explore their creative special interests and provide opportunity to develop these over
the week.
The camp also offers opportunity for social engagement with like minded children. By bringing these children together under mutual special interests, it will help to create connections and reduce a sense of isolation and perceived difference. Art can also provide a calm and sensory friendly environment. We will provide a separate space for parents to stay and chat and in turn create a parent support system as well as a quiet space for children to escape to, if feeling anxious.
Our first session will be conducted gently with a wide range of art materials but will also offer a planned creative activity to add structure. The following four sessions will be focused on providing materials, inspiration and support to nurture each child’s special interests through their chosen art form.
