Monagan Libraries have developed a new partnership with the Social Prescribing programme, with the aim of establishing new Creative Café’s at libraries across Monaghan. The Creative Cafés are an opportunity for older people who may be feeling socially excluded or anxious about getting out and about to engage in a small group activity once a week.  Engaging in creative activities such as painting and crafting can help alleviate stress by providing an outlet for self-expression and emotional release. It also serves as a form of relaxation and can divert attention away from everyday worries.  A team of creative practitioners and artists will be engaged to deliver weekly workshops in our libraries commencing September 2023.
