Roscommon Social Prescribing Link Worker will work with clients referred to him under two strands 

Creative Activities

Clients who are referred to him will be offered introductory creative experiences mainly at a number of Creative Cafés/Hubs which he is establishing county-wide. Creatives – from a broad range of disciplines - will be invited to present at these Cafés/Hubs to engage with clients, to interact, to experiment in a safe space. The Social Prescribing Link Worker will explore: Creative writing courses, Book clubs, Social story telling, Visual art & craft, choirs and other creative disciplines with a social theme for different age groups. 

Creative Events

Support will be offered to cover the cost of journeys to, attendances at and the odd cuppa at selected cultural and creative events approached by the Social Prescribing Link Worker such as Arts Centres, Historical & Heritage Venues, Walking Festivals, Art Classes, Writing Classes, Coding Classes, Youth Theatre/Dance Events etc including the new Cultural Companions Day-time Events in Roscommon funded under Creativity in Older Age 2023.
