This project is supporting Comhchoiste Ghaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh’s delivery of their successful Arts Council Creative Places application. Upon appointment of a researcher and an artist, who will listen and work with all of the local community, the project aims to develop a proposal for sustained arts and creative engagement, with a clear response to local concerns in relation to the lack of arts provision in the area. This will be within the multilingual context of Gaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh, while also being inclusive and supporting social cohesion, as the community grows and continues to become more diverse and will include steps on how to bring underused arts resources better into play, an integrated plan for artist supports and clear commitments by stakeholders to invest in and support a long-term programme of arts development in the area.
