Creative Projects in Communities 2019

A total of four creative projects are underway in 2019 with a budget of €9,000 per Municipal District. Projects which highlight the essential role of creativity within a social setting were selected across four Lot options for applicants. 

(Lot 1) Tralee: Street Spectacle Quotations were welcomed from professional creatives willing to work with parade and float providers and communities in Tralee to assist in the development of skills and capacity at local level that will lead to an improvement in parade performance in 2020. National Circus Festival Ireland were selected. 

(Lot 2) Listowel: Cultural heritage applications that relate to the ‘The Lost Palace of Lixnaw’, and the 18th century legacy of the Old Court, Manor and Demesne. Projects ideas are welcome from professionals open to working with schools and communities in Kerry. Creative professionals Alison MacCormaic and Nora Duggan were selected.

(Lot 3) Killarney: All themes were welcomed. Composer Seán Ó Dálaigh with the Scotia Ensemble were selected.

(Lot 4) South & West Kerry: All themes were welcomed. Glucksman in Cork will lead 'The Classroom Museum' project.
