Creative Response to Sláintecare Report
Sláintecare commissioned a needs analysis report for the community in St Joseph's House. St Joseph's is a new age-friendly housing development created by Waterford City and County Council, based in a former monastery.
The needs analysis, conducted by SETU, identified a desire amongst residents to engage in creative activities within this new community in order to get to know fellow residents and claim ownership of the space. However, the residents were not sure what form this should take or how to get started.
We are going to work with this newly formed community to develop an in-house creative offering with a capacity-building element, with a view to planting the seed for a self-sustaining creative ethos in St Joseph's House. This may potentially involve an intergenerational collaboration with the local Deis school, depending on community preference.
