To enhance the creative technologies already on offer within dlr Libraries, it was decided to expand the knowledge of library staff and public alike with training workshops on the HP Sprout. In 2019, dlr Libraries purchased 2 Sprouts, one for dlr LexIcon and one for Deansgrange Library. A Sprout allows the user to manipulate the physical and digital worlds and bring them together in so many innovative ways.The Sprout is a great product for learning, including in a public library environment.

In 2020, we hope to develop our Virtual Reality technologies, with virtual travel around the globe from our library space and virtual tours of our Libraries and other public spaces available to increase access and a sense of inclusion. For this reason, we are purchasing VR headsets.
