Local Artist Jennifer Cunningham will work with Tuam Tidy Towns and members of the community on a creative project to highlight biodiversity and to consider how can drawing and printmaking connect us to the land, the elements and the more than human world.

Participants will explore new media including intaglio printmaking workshops, collagraphs, monoprints and mono types, expanded drawing using  sustainable natural materials, homemade drawing tools, charcoal, inks and twigs. Through innovative drawing exercises we will explore various ways of producing marks, forms and symbols.

They will then explore various book formats including explosion books, accordion books and flag books. The conclusion of the project will be celebrated with an exhibition in Tuam library.

This project aims to explore collaborative methods that connect Tuam Tidy Towns with the Galway County Integration Team to open it out and expand the participants who partake in the workshops. 

Bringing these groups together through creative practice offers the potential to link environmental awareness with integration, fostering new relationships across cultures.
