Creativity and Artificial Intelligence: conflict or collaboration?
Waterford City and County Council are aware of the fast paced developments in the use of artificial intelligence technologies (AI) in creative practice. To support artists, creatives, writers, crafters, creative entrepreneurs and others, WCCC has commissioned a research project to learn how to best support the creative sector locally and regionally as they contend with the issues that arise in using these new technologies.
The anticipated outcome of the research project is to produce a report which identifies potential future developments in the field of creativity and AI and to provide clear recommendations which could support future funding allocation for Creative Waterford and other programmes including the Local Enterprise Office.
Key Objectives:
1. To create a picture of current issues and opportunities surrounding the use of relevant AI technology in creative practice and in creative industries settings with practical real life examples.
2. To document the experiences of creatives in using AI, to identify areas of concern, and explore opportunities.
4. To provide evidence-based recommendations which may be used as a funding model to support Waterford’s creative community in the use of AI.
