An opportunity for children in the Ennis area to learn chess.  Stephen Danaher, tutor, will visit the library on a weekly basis over 12 weeks.  Children aged between 7 and 12 years are taught to play chess with the aim of creating a local chess club which can continue to run when this project finishes.  Chess has been proven to improve both reading and problem-solving skills and will help children to harness their creativity through the skills acquired.
