Creativity for Wellbeing - Ballymote FRC CLG
The project is a response to parents involved with Down Syndrome Sligo who live within the South Sligo region & highlighted 1. The need for activities which include their adult children to be provided in the South Sligo area & 2. The need for activities that promote ability & creativity in a social group setting. The project is aimed to be the foundation & stepping stone for building a relationship with creative Maria Ward in view of working toward future collaborative projects. The project will take place in South SLigo bringing this activity to participants living in that area & lessen their need to travel, help build social networks & celebrate the creative input & resources residing in this area.
Creative Maria Ward will work with participants to discover new interests, explore creative expression and identify strengths through creative engagements. The long term projected outcome of engaging with this program is that participants will continue favoured activities in community classes post-course completion, leading to sustained creative engagement.
Program runs for 6 weeks. Each workshop is 3 hours in duration & will run June / July.
