Creativity in Older Age Scheme 2022
The creativity in older age scheme 2022 phase 1 aims to enable older people who attend day care centres to engage fully in fun and creative activities in a social environment with friends and neighbours.
This will help to mitigate the negative impact of social isolation brought on by social distancing and covid by bringing older people together in a safe environment. Through the use of various creative activities including crafting, drumming, singing, dance, poetry, creative writing and storytelling motivation and confidence are reignited.
Phase 2 aims to harness the huge therapeutic effects of music and dance to enable seniors to improve overall sense of well-being and quality of life. These activities will also help seniors to express themselves in new ways, reduce anxiety and agitation plus trigger memories. This generates a supportive experience for people living with dementia their carers and family members.
