Cúltír distinguishes itself as a vibrant, engaging and dynamically produced TV show, exploring the musical attributes and cultural inspirations that give a county and its people identity, personality or character. It consists of a one hour television show championing the arts in an individual county. One episode will showcase County Roscommon, celebrating the unique heritage, music, arts and culture of the county.
Cúltír is presented by two renowned performers. Music and identity will take centre stage as Pauline Scanlon introduces the setting, the performers (traditional music and more), the contributors (writers, artists, proud and iconic ‘county’ people) and the various locations. In the capable hands of the second presenter Edwina Guckian, three county ‘character films’ will take the audience out across the county to showcase built heritage sites, iconic landscapes, contemporary culture and crafts which are rooted in the county.
Directed by Paschal Cassidy of Sugartown Films and native of Elphin, Co. Roscommon.
