Culture Kids

Dublin City Council Culture Company’s successful programme of Culture Clubs have provided a way of engaging new audiences with cultural venues in Dublin over the last three years. Culture Clubs invite, orient and support people to access culture with others, through free tours followed by facilitated discussion and refreshments (‘Tea & Chats’) at museums, galleries, libraries and other cultural venues in the city.

Dublin City Council Culture Company is now working with its network of Culture Club cultural partners on developing and delivering bespoke children and youth focused Culture Clubs in 2019. This project will involve primary schools, youth clubs (for example at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and 14 Henrietta Street) and inter-generational Culture Clubs (also at 14 Henrietta Street).

The aims of Culture Club are:

  • To invite and support new audiences in accessing Cultural venues in Dublin.
  • To accompany people on their initial visits to them to empower them to become comfortable and confident in the cultural venues.
  • To broaden the reach of culture in Dublin to as many people as possible and those who may not feel culturally confident.
  • To incorporate the opportunity to make social connections and reflect with others in the workshop that follows the c.45 min tour.
