Wool, heritage & creativity in the heart of the town.

Join us in Cushendale Yard for a vibrant programme of free, drop‑in events celebrating sheep shearing, wool, music, food and community. Watch traditional shearing, get hands‑on with wool craft and weaving, dance to Irish and global rhythms, and enjoy live music from Ireland’s oldest brass band.

In the lead‑up to the festival, creative workshops in local schools will explore the story of wool, music heritage and creativity with local young people. During the festival, expect a buzzing yard filled with craft/weaving activities, cultural dance with Global Dance Kilkenny, a community bake‑off, pop‑up mini creative enterprises, and plein air painting.

A festival rooted in heritage, sustainability, inclusion and creativity no booking required, just drop in and be part of it.
