Since the late 1990s Michael has been using film and video to record and share folklore in communities through the length and breadth of Ireland and in recent years he has been sharing his digital skills, know-how and expertise to fellow practitioners via online courses and programmes. This new 8 week programme in Kerry looks at the use of digital skills in the recording, sharing and research of folkloric topics and stories as well as digital map making and field/placename recording as well the accessing and animating of digital archival material in the local library.

The course is FREE and delivered via ZOOM with a max class size of 15 people. Each session is two hours in duration and each week, the group will be upskilled in everyday mobile and digital technology
and given hands-on tasks and applying these in practice. The produced content will be reviewed by Michael in a group peer setting. This hands on approach will allow participants will get a chance to produce digital work using newly developed skills in the supportive and creative setting.
