‘Disappearing Islands’ will be a Theatrical Song Cycle performed at Blacksod Pier, and created in collaboration with choir members in North Mayo and community members in the Mullet peninsula. The work will combine theatre with choral performance, and will explore the role of the ‘Wild Atlantic’ in this remote coastal community, today and through history.  

By engaging with local community members in the creation of the work, The Performance Corporation aim to present new opportunities for creativity and cultural expression. This will take the form of engagement with choir members from North Mayo who will sing Ellen Cranitch’s specially composed music for the performance; as well as music and storytelling workshops with community members. We believe this will be a positive and enriching experience for participants that will give voice to their life experiences through creativity.
