This project records the voices and experiences of people in Waterford so that anyone can listen and learn more about the people and places that make up our community. This project aims to empower members of the community to record their own stories and history and to engage with the diverse groups around them in a meaningful way. The project focuses not only on recording the broadest possible range of voices and experiences, but also on upskilling the community to lead the project and determine how they would like to be recorded and represented.

It is important for this project to be open and accessible for all, not only for the present day but for future generations. In light of this, 2025 will focus on making the collections to date more accessible on the web platform and providing additional mediums such as blog posts and recording snippets to increase public awareness of the platform. We will also continue working with community groups to support the recording of oral history in communities.
