A Creative Ireland ‘Creativity in Older Age’ Programme for people ages 65 years +
Are you aged 65 or over? Do you live in Carlow? Would you like to be part of a free county wide dance programme delivered direct to your front door?
Doorstep Dances is a six-week dance and movement programme where participants will engage in a series of 1-2-1 'in person' workshops lead by local Dance Artist Roisin Whelan. Each week Roisin and the Doorstep Dances team will visit your home to dance, chat and even have a cup of tea! Each dance session will be designed and tailored to meet your needs, abilities and music choices. Over the course of the programme local Visual Artist Bridget Flannery will also drop by capture the dance class through figurative mark making. These art works will be gifted to you upon completion of the programme. Local filmmaker Patrick Bramley will also create a film documentary capturing the whole process!
The workshop series will run for six weeks over three separate cycles. Each cycle will take place in one of the three municipal districts in Carlow. Dates and districts are as follows:
June 21st - Aug 13th: Carlow
August 16 – Sept 24th: Bagenalstown
27th Sep – 12th Nov: Tullow
Want to take part but you are concerned about having visitors at your home? Don’t worry you can still take part in our weekly zooms.
