Down Syndrome Limerick - Lockdown Lookback: My Perspective
A showcase of Down Syndrome members photos, taken by them, reflecting their lockdown experience that will create a virtual exhibition to share with the public.
Many members have medical conditions and have cocooned due to Covid19. This project will allow them to re-connect and share their lockdown experience with fellow members and the public through the medium of photography and a virtual exhibition. Members have missed their usual routines and supports leaving many feeling isolated, lonely and forgotten.
This project will empower them by providing access to a medium of communication with the wider community. Through artistic expression members will retrieve a level of autonomy, personal expression and increased confidence. Their fine motor skills sensory and perceptual skills will improve. Photos will be edited, printed onto canvas and our videographer will create a virtual exhibition to share for all to enjoy.
Exhibition; Down Syndrome Limerick Platform - 15th to 31st December 2021
