The Dungarvan Library in county Waterford is partnering with Waterford Artist Shona Shirley MacDonald to design and install a mural in the children's section of the Library. Shona lives in the Deise Gaeltacht of Co. Waterford, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and she has created and collaborated on numerous award winning books. Shona will create a night-time seascape mural, filled with magic, moonlight and lanterns. The mural will bring the outside view of Dungarvan Bay into the library and enhance a space that is well used by families and schools from the surrounding area as well as community groups such as Shakti Women's group, art classes, chair Yoga and dancing classes. The Library's therapeutic sensory table is situated in front of the mural; it is hoped that this piece of art will inspire creativity and imagination in library users.

Shona will be delivering a workshop along the theme of this mural creation and installation, booking for this workshops will be available through Dungarvan Library and will be advertised on Waterford City & County Library Services website and social media.
