EASA Seanchaí, Waterford, 2026

The European Architecture Students Assembly (EASA) is a non-profit, student-led network connecting architecture students and young professionals across Europe. It provides an alternative educational platform through workshops, lectures, and communal living & cultural exchange. Each year, EASA hosts a two-week summer assembly in a different European city, bringing together participants to learn, design, build, and share ideas in a self-organised environment.

The 2026 assembly titled EASA Seanchaí, which will take place in Waterford City, will explore architecture, narrative, and place. Participants will engage with local communities, culture, and heritage, using storytelling as a design tool to inspire creative exchange between Irish and European contexts. The assembly will host hands-on workshops led by architects, artists, and interdisciplinary practitioners, exploring spatial storytelling through design, making, performance, writing, film, and installation, in collaboration with the city and its residents.

Alongside workshops, a public programme of lectures, debates, exhibitions, and cultural events will animate public spaces, inviting local audiences to engage with the city’s stories. Rooted in participation, sustainability, and collective learning, EASA SeanchaÍ promotes peer-led exchange, collaboration, inclusivity, and public engagement, leaving a lasting cultural legacy and strengthening connections between emerging Irish and European practitioners.
