Eleanor Swan was commissioned to develop a sculptural project based on artefacts associated with the British Army stationed in the Curragh Camp in the 1900’s. Castings of the shoes of the army officers came into the ownership of the artist and she used them as a site of investigation around conflict and social change. By casting in clay each of the shoe moulds, the artist developed an installation of ceramic artwork.
