This multidimensional exhibition will feature items from the collection of the renowned jeweller Erwin Springbrunn, alongside an exhibition of his tools and memorabilia from his workshop.
Erwin Springbrunn was a world renowned gemstone cutter from County Roscommon and the exhibition planned for King House, Boyle, Co Roscommon will celebrate hsi work. Erwin Springbrunn’s entire workshop including his drawings, sketches, jewellery, specialist equipment and meticulous notes will be moved from his house and workshop and installed and exhibited in King House.
This installation/exhibtion will be of interest to goldsmiths, silversmith, gemologists, diamond cutters, and diamond setters and indeed the general population. As part of the exhibition, a specially created film and installation of same, with archive images/footage and an interactive screen will be on display.
Erwin Springburn (1939-2015) was a unique craftsman, an exceptional goldsmith and an extraordinary gemstone cutter. His creations hang in the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks and the Basilica in Knock, among others.
