Expansion of the dlr Scéal Trail Programme
This project involves the expansion of the current dlr Scéal Trail Programme in the west of the county to provide updated Story Walks in Sandyford and Dundrum. A Scéal Trail is an outside Story Walk, a book delivered in panel format that you follow, from beginning to end, as you walk with your family or friends.
The Sandyford area has a large community of families living in apartment complexes. Apart from Bracken Road Parklet, there is currently very little Green space in the immediate vicinity for residents to use. Installing a new Scéal Trail "The Wilderness" by Steve McCarthy will be a welcome addition to the park area.
The book tells the story of the adventurous Vasylenko family. They all love the thrill of exploring the outside world. All that is ... except Oktober. He prefers the warm and safe comfort of the inside world, and for his adventures to take place between the pages of a book. It is a story of true bravery and discovering friendship in the most unexpected of places.
"Too Many Cats" by Kate Sheehy is a story about the love between a little girl Lily and her cat Lenny. Lily loves cats so much that she can't imagine ever having enough of them! But when she hatches the purr-fect plan to make her dream come true, things quickly start to go wrong. There are simply TOO MANY cats. Can Lily find a way to get all these cats out of her house and back to their owners?
This Scéal Trail will be installed near Dundrum Library to signpost the location of the Library.
