Exploring AR with Ragnall

This project will be a collaboration between Waterford Libraries and The Walton Institute, SETU. The Walton Institute will provide an Augmented Reality (AR) based application featuring Ragnall the Waterford Libraries mascot. This AR mobile application will consist of a 3D model of Ragnall that is animated to greet, read, or do other activities. Users will be able to see this animated Ragnall in their own physical space by using a mobile device that presents the 3D animated model on screen.

This project will allow Library Staff and the wider Library Community to explore cutting edge AR Technology and see how it can be creative fun and of benefit to Library users, while also potentially increasing inclusion across literacy levels in our Library service. The finished application will be ready to roll out to all Waterford primary school students in advance of the launch of the Summer Stars Reading Programme in June.
