Fall of The Stones

Ossory Youth is a voluntary, non-profit youth work organisation working with and for young people within the Diocese of Ossory. Ossory Youth are strong in the belief that every young person has a story and they work to contribute positively to the lives and well-being of young people.

Fall of the Stones is a Play written and staged by a group of young people (Dramatizers) with no experience of acting or stage craft. The group known as Dramatizers, under the guidance of Ossory Youth, brings the principles of Youth Work and Drama techniques together to build young people’s confidence and unleash their creativity.

Dramatizers started devising the play early in 2020. When they could no longer meet in person due to Covid, the group quickly adapted to zoom and continued to meet and devise the piece all throughout the year. The play will take place at The Watergate Theatre in April 2021 for a two-night run. Should Covid restrictions still be in place in April and the play cannot be performed as envisaged, it will be filmed and there will be a virtual public launch of the filmed version of the play. It will also be distributed through local networks and YouTube.
