Family Resource Centre Artist in Residence
We are excited to install a visual artist-in-residence in The Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre. This artist will work directly with the groups supported by the centre; including (but not limited to) residents of the local IPAS centre, Settled Travelling Community, older residents, social-prescribing participants, those accessing family support, and those accessing local youth services.
Over a period of six months, this artist will complete in-depth workshop blocks with the community to help them unlock their innate creativity. These workshops will be tailored to the various community facets and suitable for those who have never engaged in a formal creative process before. The central theme of these workshops will be identifying what it means to be a resident of the Sacred Heart area to each individual who attends.
At the end of their residency, one potential outcome might be the completion of a community mural, encompassing all of the themes uncovered throughout the residency. However, we are completely open to responding to the needs and requests of the community, as these emerge through their work with the artist.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
